KEVIN STEWART

Multi Award Winning Kevin Stewart has been a stalwart on the British Country Music Scene for over twenty five years.  In The early years Kevin was the driving force behind the legendary STEWART BROTHERS, performing the close knit harmonies reminiscent of Tompall and the Glaser Brothers, and in great demand all over the country, playing theatres, festivals, Dance Halls and clubs.  Kevin was born in India (the birth country of stars like Cliff Richard, Roly Daniels and Engelbert Humperdinck).  He came to England with his parents as a teenager and graduated as an accountant.  He fronted his five piece band at weekends while working during the week.  Kevin has been singing Country & Irish songs all his life and his early country influences were Marty Robbins, Jim Reeves, Buck Owens, while Frankie McBride and Brian Coll were his Irish Favourites.  Later on came his new heroes like Merle Haggard, Vince Gill and Gene Watson.  But his biggest hero is Charley Pride, and Kevin performs many of his songs on stage.

Kevin and his band "First Chapter" are recognised as one of the smartest and most professional outfits in Country Music Today, displaying musical dexterity and the close vocal harmony they have been known for.  With their immense repertoire, ranging from traditional to gospel to modern day "New Country Music" they always leave their many fans wanting more.

A Few years ago Kevin and his band released an album, two songs from the album "A Walking Piece Of Heaven" and "It Finally Happened" were included in a Best Of British compilation Cd by International Country Music News and "Walking Piece Of Heaven" by all accounts was the outstanding track on the CD and the most requested song on the radio.

Kevin has been visiting Ireland for over 25 years and loves the Country, it's people and of course the music scene, so much so, that he now resides in Galway and in the process of putting a new band together. Kevin in the past has played support to Moe Bandy on his tour of Ireland..
