Frank McCaffrey

Frank McCaffrey comes from Westport, Co Mayo.  Frank is man at piece with himself contented and easy going, the Westport born singer has a voice to match the very best. Frank is the second youngest of eight.  His Grandfather Peter McConville was the master of a local Brass Band .  Frank Started his musical journey only eight years old by teaming up with his Grandfather.  To this Day Frank has always kept his links with the Brass Band which he holds in High Esteem acknowledging that it was very beneficial.  While still at school Frank joined a local band "The Beat Minstrels" owned at the time by Basil Morahan, who is better known as Dan The Street Singer. Frank eventually moved on to The Friel Men, another local outfit who he gained valuable stage experience by playing support to many more established showbands.

After Leaving School he was offered a position with "Country Folk" which had the legendary Margo as their lead singer.  Around the time of the decline of the ballroom scene Frank left the Country Folk line up to front the newly formed Band Of Gold.  Feeling that the time was right to concentrate on Cabaret.  He Signed up with "Ritz Records" and embarked on Concert Tours with Philomena Begley.

Frank's early ambition was to be a musician.

Earliest Recording was "Introducing Frank McCaffrey Album" 1976.  Franks favourite Irish Artists are Philomena Begley, Joe Dolan.  Franks favourite sport is squash.  Frank would love to meet Willie Nelson.
