JAMES ROLLINS PROMOTIONS NEWS & INFORMATION This weeks up-dates .... Live Shows & short artist info below, up-dates Kieran Goss: Kieran Goss will play his one and only Irish date of 2010 on Sunday, 3rd January. It promises to be a great night because the show is in his hometown of Newry at The Canal Court Hotel. It looks like 2010 is going to be a hectic year for Kieran, with 22 shows in Germany in January, 13 shows in England and Scotland in March and another 12 shows in Germany in April before he heads off to Czechoslovakia for the first time in May, not to mention a tour in Canada in September and a second U.K. tour in October. But before any of that starts, there’s the one and only Irish show of 2010 planned for Sunday, 3rd January, at Newry’s Canal Court Hotel. Kieran explains: “I played in Newry last February for the first time in about 20 years. We had a packed house and a fantastic night. Most of my family were there, aunts, uncles, cousins, old school friends... It was a very special night. I promised that I'd come back and even though all of my shows in 2010 are abroad, I wanted to keep my promise on that. It will be my only Irish show of the year, before jumping on a plane the next day heading for Germany’. Sun 3 Jan: The Canal Court Hotel, Newry Jack Jones: Jack Jones brings his magic to The Waterfront Hall, Belfast, for one night only. With a disarming smile, an effortlessly engaging wit and a vocal style that stands alone, Jack Jones is one of the greatest singers ranking with the legendary Mel Tormé, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Vic Damone. A true Singers' Singer. A double Grammy winner, Jack performs around the globe to sold-out audiences in venues ranging from Jazz clubs to the London Palladium. Whether he performs with his trio or full Symphony orchestra, his musical perfection, vocal passion, phenomenal breath control and impeccable phrasing all unfailingly illustrate why he stands with the luminaries. From the thematic threads of his shows to his ability to make the largest halls intimate, Jack Jones is the very definition of a complete and total entertainer. The New York Times raves, "he is arguably the most technically accomplished male pop singer..." . Sat 21 Nov: The Waterfront Hall, Belfast Charlie Landsbrough: Charlie and his five-piece band play to sell-out audiences and are well known for keeping concert goers enthralled with his heartfelt and telling lyrics and his very human anecdotes. Charlie Landsborough is a performer who is difficult to categorise, sometimes folk, sometimes country, sometimes rock ‘n’ roll, sometimes gospel. If you go into a music shop, you may find Charlie’s music in the Country or the Easy Listening section but this belies the nature of a man who is uncomfortable with labels but spans various musical forms. Sat 21 Nov: Bangor Conference & Corporate Centre Anthony Toner: Northern Ireland singer and songwriter Anthony Toner follows the success of his album A Sky for Every Day and the hit single Sailortown with his new album, The Duke of Oklahoma & Other Stories. To celebrate the release of the album, Anthony releases the title song as a radio single radio and embarks on dates across Northern Ireland. The tour dates will feature a trio – Anthony on guitars, Clive Culbertson on bass and vocals and John McCullough on keyboards. Earlier this year, Anthony was one of a delegation of songwriters who took part in a trip to Nashville, where he shared the stage with Nanci Griffith and Guy Clark. He also appeared in a special showcase at the South by South West music festival in Austin, Texas. Anthony is also building a reputation in Canada, and has been invited to perform in Ottawa in spring of next year, at the Great Canadian Theatre Company. Fri 20 Nov: - DOWNPATRICK, Down Arts Centre Sat 28 Nov: - ENNISKILLEN, Ardhowen Theatre Sun 29 Nov: - DERRY, Halo Restaurant (In the Round with: Eilidh Patterson & Paul Casey) Mon 22 Dec: - PORTSTEWART, Flowerfield Arts Centre Ben Reel: plays rock with a touch of blues and roots and the occasional injection of reggae. Critically acclaimed all over Europe, his vocals are soulful and his lyrics meaningful. Ben first picked up the guitar when he was 15 years-old, inspired by the authenticity of the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young. Their influence is still reflected today in Ben's passionate and heart-on-the-sleeve approach to performing and writing, but his sound is very much his own.
