New Release From Kathy Kane

"Your Time"

Born in a little village called Drumsurn, near Limavady, started singing at the age of twelve with her first band Kathy and the Texans. Kathy then moved on at the age of 17, when she joined The Showband Country Cream, where Kathy stayed and was very happy until the age of 25 when she got married.

Kathy then started doing the cabaret circuit here at home and across the water.

Kathy's first recording was a song called "Heaven Around Galway Bay" when she was just 16 years old.

Kathy's very first album was called "Just For You" released when she was just 23, released only on cassette. She then moved into the concert's which proved very successful for her, Kathy tells me that people kept requesting CD,S so she decided to put the first album onto CD and sent it to all local radio stations and on Downtown Radio it all started to take off.

The first person to play her album was Ken Bruce on Downtown Radio on his Sunday night Keep It Country Show. Two songs from the album had been recorded by Tammy Wynette "Apartment No. 9", and "Lie To Linda" were very popular and were the most requested songs on Downtown at that time.

Kathy then continued doing the concert's and then fronted another dance band "Just Good Friends" for nine years. In between times Kathy was having trouble with her health. So after many tests the Doctor discovered that Kathy had a condition called Crohns Disease. This was then kept under control with Medication. Kathy went on to record her second album entitled "Strong Enough To Cry".

Enter then Walter Cunningham who is a fine song writer. Walter wrote Kathy two Christmas songs "Country Girl At Christmas" & "Big Kids, Little Kids". Then Kathy met Martin Moore, who asked if she would like to record a duet with him, they then recored two songs one called "We Work It Out" & "That's What Love Is Made Of"

Kathy then took Ill again but this time things were more serious and had to have three operations and spent four months In hospital. Kathy is due to return to hospital this September for more surgery and tells me hopefully this vist should do the trick.

So while Kathy has been off the road she has been busy in the studio working on her new album the current single is called "Dancin' To The Radio" and doing very well getting loads of air play all over the globe.

Martin Moore had written a song for Kathy called "Your Time" which will be on her new album but in the meantime Martin Moore's celebrated his birthday on the 9th June. Kathy thought it would be nice for Martin to get a copy of his song on his birthday to surprise him and that's what it did, "he hadn't a clue I was even recording the song", said Kathy.
