David Maguire is a country singer songwriter from Ballinasloe, CountyGalway, in the West of Ireland.

The self penned "Close to My Heart" was David's debut single. It is one that will get your feet tappin' and in no time you will want to hear it again and again.

The B- side to this single was "The Next Time I'm in Town" which was written by Dire Straits front man Mark Knopfler.

The second single David released was "Speed and the Sound of Loneliness" which was written by John Prine.

In January 2007 David released "The Homes of Donegal" which was recorded by people such as Paul Brady and Daniel O'Donnell. 

In April David 2007 released another Mark Knopfler song called "Cannibals" which was one of the most popular country songs across Irish Radio in 2007. 

David has also written the title track for his new album "Four Walls".
